In NVC consciousness, we aim to make a clear distinction between punishment and the protective use of force in certain circumstances. |
Treatment of Offenders |
|
Regardless of a reduction in violent crime in recent years, prison populations continue to grow around the world, partly as a result of high recidivism rates and longer terms for repeat offenders. SCPNVC seeks to support those prison inmates in Singapore wishing to express themselves in ways other than further criminal activity by making NVC training available to those who would like to attend. In addition, SCPNVC aims to encourage prison staff to make use of NVC in handling situations as and when they arise in their daily work. Over the long term, we may also offer practice groups through half-way houses.
